Spark Plug Gap Size
INFLUENCE OF SPARK PLUG GAP SIZE ON VOLTAGE
The spark plug gap is where the spark discharge is designed to take place.
Too narrow of a gap can yield a spark that is too weak to fully ignite the air/fuel mixture,
while too wide of a gap can cause misfires during normal driving.
•Applications with low compression ratios and leaner air/fuel mixture tend to recommend a larger gap
•Applications with high compression ratios and dense air/fuel mixture tend to recommend a smaller gap.
