Insulator Nose Temp
SPARK PLUG INSULATOR NOSE TEMP
When the temperature of the insulator nose exceeds 850°C the spark plug will overheat
which can cause the center electrodes to melt.
This can lead to pre-ignition/detonation and can potentially destroy your engine.
Spark plugs must have such heat fetures that during the engine operation theinsulator nose reaches theself-cleaning temperature higher than 450°C
as fast as possible and does not exceed a temperature of 850°C in any case.
When the insulator nose temperature is lower than 450°C, deposits of combustion settle on it
and over time can result in the spark plug fouling, leading to misfire.
